Working Of Film Extrusion Line
Feeding the Polymer
Polymer pellets or granules are loaded into the extruder hopper. The extruder heats and melts the resin, creating a viscous, uniform flow.
Extrusion through the Die
The molten polymer is pushed through a circular die, forming a thin, continuous tube of plastic.
Inflation and Bubble Formation
Compressed air is injected into the tube, inflating it into a bubble that expands vertically. This step determines the film’s thickness and width.
Cooling and Solidification
The bubble passes through a cooling ring or air ring, which cools the plastic and solidifies the film. Proper cooling ensures uniform thickness and prevents defects.
Flattening and Winding
The cooled bubble is collapsed by rollers into a flat film, which is then wound onto rolls for storage or further processing.
